Interested in doing a residency, research project, or creative stay in Kyoto, but not sure where to start?
Kyoto Residency Office Hours is a regular 1 on 1 online consultation programme for people considering a residency, research stay, or creative project in Kyoto. The programme offers basic guidance on residency opportunities, advice on developing a stay or research plan, and introductory information about living, working, and making in Kyoto.
You are welcome to join whether you already have a concrete plan, are preparing an application, or are still at an early stage of exploring possibilities.
💬 Who is it for?
This programme is for international creatives interested in staying, researching, or making work in Kyoto.
You do not need to fit into a specific category such as artist, designer, or researcher. We welcome people with diverse creative, cultural, research-based, or community-based practices.

Please note that we are unable to provide legal advice or visa application services. As each consultation is approximately 15 minutes, we may also be unable to provide detailed advice on individual cases or ongoing support.
The consultation is intended as an introductory opportunity to receive general information and guidance as you begin planning a stay, research project, or creative practice in Kyoto.

- Participation with collaborators or team members is welcome
When booking, you will be asked to complete a short form so that we can learn a little about your practice, interests, and the topics you would like to discuss in advance.
Consultation times are scheduled with different time zones in mind.
📅 Upcoming Sessions
Each date offers four individual 15-minute consultation slots within the time period below:
- 15 September (Tue), 9:00–10:30 JST
- 18 September (Fri), 17:00–18:30 JST
Dates for October onwards will generally be announced approximately one month in advance.
Please note that all times are listed in Japan Standard Time (JST). When booking, please select the 15-minute time slot that works best for you.

京都でのレジデンス、リサーチ、滞在制作に関心のある方へ
京都でレジデンスや滞在制作をしてみたい。でも、どんな場所があるのか、どう応募すればよいのか、滞在や制作の準備をどこから始めればよいのか分からない。
本相談室は、京都での滞在制作・リサーチを検討している海外クリエイターに向けたオンライン相談窓口です。京都でのレジデンス情報、滞在・リサーチ計画に関する相談、生活や制作環境に関する基礎的な情報提供を行います。具体的な計画がある方、応募を準備している方はもちろん、まだアイデア段階の方もご参加いただけます。

京都での滞在、リサーチ、制作に関心のある海外クリエイター。
アーティスト、デザイナー、研究者など、特定の肩書きや分野に限るものではありません。クリエイティブ、文化、リサーチ、コミュニティに関わる多様な実践を行う方々を広く歓迎します。

※本相談室では、法律相談やビザ申請代行は行っていません。また、1回15分の相談となるため、個別の案件について詳細な対応や継続的なサポートが難しい場合があります。京都での滞在、リサーチ、制作に向けた準備のための、一般的な情報提供と導入的な相談の場として実施します。

お申し込み時に簡単な事前フォームにご回答いただき、相談内容や関心を事前に確認します。
時差を考慮し、地域に応じた時間帯で実施予定です。

10以降の日程については一ヶ月前を目処に公開します。
