1. ポール・アンドレア

着物・和装小物を通じた、ハンガリーでの和洋折衷の可能性

着物にハンガリー刺繍を施すという実践について、その始まりの経緯と、ハンガリーと日本、双方の伝統やルールを尊重しながら制作するというこだわりをご紹介します。

また、和装への理解をさらに深めるため、京都のつくり手や専門家との繋がりを望んでいます。たとえば、舞妓さんの赤い半衿に施された白い刺繍からインスピレーションを得ているので同じ雰囲気を持つ作品を作るため舞妓さんの半衿を手がける方や、和装の歴史的な知識について語り合える方との出会うことも希望しています。

 

クリエイター紹介

ハンガリー出身。2019年、大学院留学のため来日。コロナ禍をきっかけに母国の伝統刺繍に没頭し、同じ時期に着物にも魅了される。東京オリンピックの「KIMONOプロジェクト」において母国の振袖からインスピレーションを得たことをきっかけに、着物とハンガリー刺繍を組み合わせる制作に取り組み始める。2024年より、会社員として働きながらアーティストとしての活動を続けている。

新しい神経の生花

本発表では、生身の身体と人工の身体を用いたグループパフォーマンスのプロジェクトを紹介します。このパフォーマンスでは、両者のあいだで感覚を移植し、神経を繋ぎ合わせるような接触の動きを通じて、ひとつの「神経の生け花」を立ち上げていくことを試みます。

 

クリエイター紹介

振付家・ダンサー。現代美術とコンテンポラリーダンスを横断して活動し、劇場や美術館・ギャラリーまたその他の公共空間や野外でパフォーマンスや展示を行う。その作品は私たちがしばしば当たり前のものとして捉える人間の身体そのものに問いを投げかけ、身体の自己所有という概念に挑むところから始まる。パフォーマンス作品の他にも、流動的な性と主体への関心から文字がイメージと化していくテキストなど文章の執筆も行っている。 https://linktr.ee/osamu_shikichi

制作活動とレジデンスでの取り組みの紹介

クリエイター紹介

彼女は陶芸作品の制作を通して、ノスタルジア、マインドフルネス、「今ここ」にある感覚、そしてインナーチャイルドの統合をテーマとして探求しています。主に手びねりの技法を用い、粘土を触覚的かつ瞑想的な媒体として扱いながら、遊び心や感覚的な体験、物語性を誘う彫刻を制作するのが特徴です。発表では、制作活動の始まりの経緯と、レジデンスや今後を通して取り組みたいことをご紹介いたします。

 

 

セリーン・"セリー"・カスタネダは、カナダ・トロントを拠点に活動する陶芸家である。その制作は、自然の中で過ごした時間や個人的な経験、そして意図的に築かれたコミュニティからインスピレーションを得ながら、好奇心や内省、軽やかさの感覚を促す作品を生み出している。彫刻がいかにして物語を内包しながらも、鑑賞者それぞれの記憶や感情、解釈を作品へと持ち込むことを可能にするか、という点に関心を寄せている。

 

3. ルアン・バンザイ

京都の暮らしから問い直す、アーティスト・レジデンシーのかたち

 

クリエイター紹介

京都での暮らしの中で出会ったアーティスト、街の人々、文化から生まれたコラボレーションや創作プロセスを紹介します。それらの展覧会、パフォーマンス、ワークショップ、Zen Danceなどを通じて、固定した拠点を持たない非公式なネットワークが生まれつつあり、こうした経験から、従来のアーティスト・レジデンシーの定義を問い直すようになりました。発表では京都という街そのものが、アートと生活を体験する新たな方法を生み出すうえで、どのような役割を果たせるのかを一緒に考えます。

 

2023年より京都を拠点に活動するブラジル出身のアーティスト。写真、映像、ドローイング、絵画、パフォーマンス、音、参加型プロジェクトなど、複数の表現領域を横断して制作している。直感と「今ここにいること」を大切にしながら、感情、記憶、出会い、環境との関係によって絶えず変化するアイデンティティを探求。国内外での展示や公演に加え、瞑想と即興的な動きを組み合わせた「Zen Dance」や、芸術的な交流の場を生み出す共同プロジェクトにも取り組む。

1. Andi

• Field: Embroidery

Blending Hungarian and Japanese Traditions Through Kimono and Textile Accessories

This presentation introduces my practice of embroidering kimono with traditional Hungarian embroidery, along with my commitment to honoring both Hungarian and Japanese traditions and conventions.　I also hope to connect with artisans and specialists in Kyoto to deepen my understanding of Japanese dress—particularly maiko han-eri (collar) makers, whose white embroidery on red collars has inspired my own work, as well as those knowledgeable in the history of kimono design.

Bio

Born in Hungary. Came to Japan in 2019 to pursue graduate studies. During the pandemic, became immersed in traditional Hungarian embroidery, and around the same time, developed a fascination with kimono. Inspired by a furisode representing Hungary in the Tokyo Olympics' "KIMONO Project," began combining kimono and Hungarian embroidery in her work. Since 2024, has continued her artistic practice alongside full-time employment.

2. Re Shikichi

A Floral Lightning of New Nerves

This presentation introduces a group performance project involving both living human bodies and artificial bodies. Through gestures of contact—transplanting sensation and connecting nerves between the two—the performance attempts to give rise to a single "nervous ikebana.”

 

Bio

Choreographer and dancer working across contemporary art and contemporary dance, presenting performances and exhibitions in theaters, museums, galleries, and other public and outdoor spaces. Their work begins by questioning the human body itself—something we often take for granted—challenging the very notion of bodily self-ownership. 3. Celine Castaneda

An Introduction to My Practice: Building life through gratitude

Bio

Through her ceramic work, she explores themes of nostalgia, mindfulness, presence, and inner-child integration. Working primarily with hand-building techniques, she treats clay as a tactile and meditative medium, creating sculptures that invite play, sensory experience, and storytelling. This presentation will introduce how her practice began, along with what she hopes to explore during the residency and in her future work.

 

 

Celine "Celly" Castaneda is a ceramic artist based in Toronto, Canada. Drawing inspiration from time spent in nature, personal experiences, and intentionally built community, her work invites curiosity, reflection, and a sense of lightness. She is interested in how sculpture can hold stories while allowing viewers to bring their own memories, emotions, and interpretations to the work.

3. Luan Banzai

Rethinking the Artist Residency Through Life in Kyoto

 

Bio

Luan Banzai will share how his life and practice in Kyoto have connected visiting artists with the city's people, places, and culture, generating unexpected collaborations. Through exhibitions, performances, workshops, and Zen Dance, an informal network has emerged without a permanent space. Togetherwe will rethink the conventional artist residency and how Kyoto itself might shape new ways of experiencing art and life.

 

Luan Banzai is a Brazilian multidisciplinary artist based in Kyoto since 2023. His practice moves across photography, film, drawing, painting, performance, sound, and participatory projects. Through a presence-based and intuitive approach, his work explores identity as something fluid and relational, continuously shaped by emotions, memories, encounters, and the environments we inhabit.
