sodaは、9月27日(土) 28日(日) 29日(月)の3日間、アーティスト谷崎桃子の絵画とドローイングによる展覧会を行います。
谷崎は、孤独や不安などネガティブなものを含むさまざまな感情を手掛かりに、主に絵画という直接的に身体を介する表現方法を用いて、人間の生活や他者との関係性のあり方を肯定的に提示する作品を発表しています。「ミッドナイト・ドリフター」と題された本展で谷崎は、眠れない夜から逃れるための幽体離脱的な想像の世界へ見る者を誘います。
soda is pleased to announce Momoko Tanizaki's solo exhibition featuring her recent paintings and drawings from Sep 27th to 29th (3days).
Tanizaki uses various emotions, including loneliness and anxiety, as inspiration for her painting—a medium that directly engages the body—to positively explore human life and relationships with others. In this exhibition titled “Midnight Drifter,” Tanizaki invites viewers into an ethereal imaginary world to escape from sleepless nights.

「眠れない夜を逃れるために。幽体離脱的な経験を信じるだろうか。超被害妄想的な思考、
あなたは囚われ、そこから動くことはできない時、目を瞑り外界から耳を塞ぎ、想像の世界でお気に入りの海に行き、ノスタルジックないい形の岩を抱えてその温度を感じながら眠るといいでしょう。昼間より大げさな海の音に包まれ浜の上で浮遊することで、深い眠りを思い出します。（谷崎桃子）」

sodaは、2018年に田中和人と菅かおるが京都で立ち上げたアーティスト・ラン・スペースで、ディレクターの田中和人によるアーティストならではの視点を軸としたキュレーションが特徴です。
従来のアーティスト活動の交流から得たネットワークを活かし国内外を問わず様々なジャンルのアーティストと広く協働しています。
2025年から京都市中京区壬生松原町の京町家に拠点を置き、より自由で発展的な活動のあり方を探求しています。

This is her first solo exhibition in Kyoto. We cordially invite all to experience Tanizaki's recent works at soda.
"To escape sleepless nights. Would you believe in out-of-body experiences? When you are trapped in paranoid thoughts and unable to move, close your eyes, block out the outside world, and go to your favorite sea in your imagination. Hold a nostalgic rock in your arms and feel its warmth as you fall asleep. Surrounded by the exaggerated sounds of the sea and floating on the beach, you will remember deep sleep. (Momoko Tanizaki)"
【About soda】
soda is an artist-run space launched in Kyoto in 2018 by Kazuhito Tanaka and Kaoru Kan.
It is characterized by its curation, which is based on the unique perspective of artist Kazuhito Tanaka, the director.
Utilizing the network gained from activities as an artist, soda collaborates with artists of various genres both domestically and internationally.
Since 2025, it has been based in a Machiya in Mibu, Kyoto City and exploring more free and dynamic approaches to artistic activities.
