略歴 / Short Biography
2023年『People Who Make Tewak』
西帰浦・法還（ポパン）地域でテワクをつくる職人たちを取材・記録し、書籍、映像、展示として発表。
2024年『Shapes of the Tewak, Hearts of the Haenyeo』
済州島内11の村を訪ね、それぞれに異なるテワクのかたちと海女（ヘニョ）たちにまつわる物語を取材。書籍、映像、展示として発表。
2025年『Hope Seogwipo』
西帰浦市が季刊で発行する広報誌『Hope Seogwipo』を1年間にわたり制作。企画、取材、撮影、編集、デザインを担当し、第70号「西帰浦の人々の朝の習慣」、第71号「西帰浦の人々の日常とスポーツ」、第72–73号「済州を記録する方法：記録する人々と、その記録」を制作。
2026年『Itsuda』
済州地下水研究センターのニュースレターを制作。また、自ら企画・制作・印刷・発行する地域文化のインディペンデントマガジン『STROLL』を立ち上げ、創刊号「本能と野性」を制作中。
そのほか、地域誌の制作、フェスティバルのデザイン、映像制作など、コンテンツ制作とデザインに関わる幅広いプロジェクトに携わっています。
2023 People Who Make Tewak — We documented the artisans of Beophwan, Seogwipo, in a book, film, and exhibition.
2024 Shapes of the Tewak, Hearts of the Haenyeo — We interviewed the distinct tewak and the haenyeo of eleven villages across Jeju, producing a book, film, and exhibition.
2025 Hope Seogwipo — A quarterly published by Seogwipo City, produced over the course of one year. We planned, reported, photographed, edited, and designed No.70 "Morning Routines of Seogwipo's People," No.71 "Daily Life and Sports of Seogwipo's People," and No.72–73 "Ways of Recording Jeju: the recorders and the records."
2026 Itsuda — We are producing the newsletter of the Jeju Groundwater Research Center, while also making the first issue, "Instinct and Wildness," of STROLL — an independent regional-culture magazine we plan, produce, print, and publish ourselves.
Beyond these, we have taken on a wide range of content and design work, including local magazines, festival design, and film.
活動について / About you
STROLL PRESSは、韓国・済州島を拠点に活動するPalsonとYuminによるチームです。地域に暮らす人々の物語や文化を記録し、企画・リサーチから取材、インタビュー、デザイン、写真、映像、印刷まで、一連のプロセスを横断しながら制作を行っています。
私たちが記録しようとしているのは、場所や人のなかに眠り、まだ「データ」にはなっていない物語やイメージです。それらを記録としてすくい上げ、新たな文脈を与えて、再び社会へと送り出すことを大切にしています。
活動の軸にあるのは、地域を中心に世界を捉える視点、それを捉えるための本能と野性、人への好奇心と敬意、そして活動を通して学び、成長し続けることです。
これまで、済州島の海女（ヘニョ）、職人、農家、シンバン（済州のシャーマン）、記録者、研究者、アーティストなど、さまざまな人々と出会い、彼らから学びながら、その物語を記録し、伝えてきました。
STROLL PRESS is a team(Palson&Yumin) based in Jeju, Korea, documenting the stories and culture of the region. We work in a single flow — from planning and reporting, through interviews, design, photography, video, and print.
We record the dormant "non-data" held within places and people — their stories and images — as data, and return it to the world in a new context.
What matters to us is a region-centered worldview, the instinct and wildness to capture it, curiosity and respect toward people, and the learning and growth that come through that work.
So far we have met and learned from Jeju's haenyeo (women divers), artisans, farmers, simbang (Jeju shamans), record-keepers, researchers, and artists — and we pass their stories on.
滞在中の活動予定 / Your plan during the residency
京都・東九条を舞台に、地域に暮らす人々をはじめ、京都の人々や在日コリアン、済州にルーツを持つ人々など、さまざまなコミュニティのあいだにある物語や日常、交流の歴史とその変化をリサーチし、記録する予定です。
滞在中のリサーチと記録をもとに、最終的には一冊の本としてまとめるとともに、写真や映像、編集物など、さまざまなメディアを通して記録を展開していきます。
We aim to research and document the stories, everyday lives, and histories of change and interaction between Kyoto’s Higashikujo district and its communities. including Kyoto citizens and the Korean and Jeju diaspora in Japan. The project will culminate in a book, accompanied by documentation and editorial works across various media.
