毎月開催しているオープンスタジオでは、滞在中のレジデントアーティストがリサーチや作品制作の過程を紹介します。今月は、オーストラリア出身のレジデントアーティスト、Alishaによる地域リサーチや過去作品を中心に展示を行います。
At our monthly Open Studio, resident artists share the processes behind their research and creative production. This month, the exhibition will focus on the local research and selected past works of Alisha, a resident artist from Australia.
アーティストプロフィール
アリーシャはメルボルン市のランドスケープ・アーキテクトであり、ナラム／メルボルンを拠点に活動する庭師、そしてメイカーです。彼女の実践は、生態学者、職人、デザイナー、地域コミュニティとの協働を通じて、「場所」「時間」「ケア」の物語をたどります。過去10年にわたり、メルボルン、オスロ、コペンハーゲンで暮らし、働き、大小さまざまなスケールの風景や日常の細部を探究してきました。その過程で、風景を形づくる価値観、素材、モノから学んできたのです――少し平凡で、少し美しいものから。
京都のBridge Studioでの滞在中、アリーシャは都市のリズムに耳を澄まし、地域の人々がどのように「ケア」と「無関心」、インフラと静かな身振りを行き来しているのかを観察しています。植物由来の顔料、テキスタイル、陶芸、そして文章を用いて、アイデンティティや場所、風景システムについて思索を深めています。
彼女の作品は、重ね合わせや引き算のプロセスを通じて「共有環境におけるケアとは何か」を問い直します。その問いはしばしば「庭師」に立ち戻ります――家庭や公共空間、制度的な場において不可欠でありながらも目立たない存在。その姿は、ケアをめぐる新しい想像力の可能性を私たちに示してくれます。
Artist Profile
Alisha is a landscape architect with the City of Melbourne, as well as a gardener and maker based in Narrm/Melbourne, Australia. Her practice traces stories of place, time, and care through collaboration with ecologists, craftspeople, designers, and communities. Over the past decade, she has lived and worked in Melbourne, Oslo, and Copenhagen, exploring landscapes across scales and and everyday details, learning from the values, materials, and objects that shape them —somewhat mundane, somewhat beautiful. As a Bridge Studio resident in Kyoto, Alisha is attuning to the city’s rhythms, observing how local communities negotiate care and neglect, infrastructure and quiet gestures. Working with plant-based pigments, textiles, ceramics, and writing, she reflects on identity, place, and landscape systems. Her work embraces layering and subtraction to question what care means in shared environments: Who actually cares? This inquiry often returns to the gardener—a figure both vital and discreet—whose presence in domestic, public, and institutional spaces suggests new ways of imagining care.

京都・左京区にて、建築や街づくり、アートなどの実践者を受け入れるアーティスト・イン・レジデンス &アーバニスト・イ ン・レジデンスである「Bridge Studio」。2020年1月にプレ施設である「Bridge To」からスタートし、2024年3月より元小児科の建物を改修した「Bridge Studio」がオープンしました。地域の活性化を目的としたアーティスト・イン・レジデ ンスほか、「都市」をテーマに活動を行う建築家、ま ちづくり関係者、アーティストによる地域の課題解決や長期的なコラボレーションづくりを目的としています。建築や街づくりに関わる実践者や、都市や公共空間を テーマに活動を行うアーティストが1~6ヶ月の期間で滞在して活動でき、滞在中は、イベントやワークショップ、展示会などの開催をしてもらっています。
Bridge Studio is an artist and urbanist-in-residence program located in Sakyo-ku, Kyoto, supporting practitioners in architecture, urban design, art, and related fields. It began in January 2020 as a pre-facility called Bridge To and officially opened in March 2024 in a renovated former pediatric clinic. The residency aims to revitalize the local community and foster long-term collaborations by engaging architects, urban practitioners, and artists working on urban and public space issues. Residents can stay for periods of 1–6 months, during which they carry out their projects and are encouraged to host events, workshops, and exhibitions.

杉田真理子 Mariko Sugita
1989年宮城県生まれ。2016年ブリュッセル自由大学大学院アーバン・スタディーズ修了。2021年より都市体験のデザインスタジオ（一社）for Cities共同代表、（一社）ホホホ座浄土寺座共同代表理事。都市や建築に関わるストーリーテリングをテーマにした出版レーベル「Traveling Circus of Urbanism」、建築家やアーティストの京都での滞在制作をサポートするアーバニスト・イン・レジデンス「Bridge To」を運営。都市・建築・まちづくり分野における執筆や編集、リサーチほか文化芸術分野でのキュレーションや新規プログラムのプロデュース、ディレクション、ファシリテーションなど国内外を横断しながら活動を行う。
Born in 1989 in Miyagi Prefecture, Japan. She completed her Master’s in Urban Studies at Vrije Universiteit Brussel in 2016. Since 2021, she has served as co-director of for Cities, a design studio for urban experiences, and as co-director of Hohohoza Jōdoji-za, a non-profit organization. She runs the publishing label Traveling Circus of Urbanism, which focuses on storytelling in architecture and urbanism, and manages the urbanist-in-residence program Bridge To, supporting architects and artists in their residencies in Kyoto. Her work spans writing, editing, and research in architecture, urban design, and city-making, as well as curating, producing, directing, and facilitating new cultural and artistic programs, both in Japan and internationally.
