◎Introduction
If no measures are taken, it is said that we have only five years left to keep the rise in global average temperature below 1.5°C. Not only is there a climate crisis, but the environment that surrounds us, including water, air, and soil, continues to be polluted by new substances. In order for all living things on Earth to live in peace, fairness, and abundance, we must maintain the global environment. All global environmental issues are connected to the lives of citizens. In 1997, the Kyoto Protocol was adopted at COP3 (The Third Session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change) held in Kyoto City. Kyoto is also a place where many environmental NGOs are active. Hinodeya Institute for Ecological Lifestyle Co. has been supporting environmental NGOs in this area for over 20 years. Additionally, we have provided mechanisms to promote awareness and behavioral changes through information and event planning focused on energy conservation and waste reduction, primarily targeting households. We are engaged in initiatives that contribute to improving the global environment in an enjoyable manner, incorporating elements of technology, games, and art.

地球の平均気温の上昇を1.5℃未満に抑えるために残された時間は、何の対策もしない場合は、残り5年と言われています。気候危機だけでなく、水、空気、土など、私たちを取り巻く環境も、新たな物質の汚染が続いています。地球上のあらゆる生き物が、平和に公平に豊かに暮らすためにも、地球環境を維持しなくてはなりません。あらゆる地球環境の問題と市民生活は繋がっています。京都市では1997年に開催されたCOP3（国連気候変動枠組条約第3回締約国会議）で「京都議定書」が採択されました。そして、環境NGOがたくさん活躍する地でもあります。ひのでやエコライフ研究所は、この地で20年以上にわたって環境NGOの支援も行ってきました。また、私たちは、主に家庭向けに、省エネやごみ減量などに関する情報や、イベント企画などを通して行動変容に繋がる気づきや変化を促す仕掛けを提供してきました。テクノロジー、ゲームやアートの要素も活かし、楽しみながら地球環境の改善に繋がる事業に取り組んでいます。

At Hinodeya Institute for Ecological Lifestyle Co., we mainly organize events and disseminate information about energy conservation and waste reduction for citizens. In addition to lending out bicycle power generators, we have organized board games related to waste, off-grid solar power workshops, home insulation workshops for making inner windows(kind of double window), and workshops for learning repairs. ◎About Hinodeya Institute for Ecological Lifestyle Co.
Established in March 1999 as a sole proprietorship with the aim of supporting efforts to address environmental issues in the home, the company became a company in June 2000 and has been expanding its business since then. In addition to collecting and providing information on effective measures for energy conservation and waste reduction in the home, the company places emphasis on sociopsychological perspectives, such as “why efforts are not progressing in the home,” and works to establish lifestyles with a low environmental impact. We provide information to households about energy conservation and waste reduction.
We also rent out bicycle power generators and offer solar panel workshops and repair workshops.
