Naoki Tsuzumitani | 皷谷 直紀

Born in Osaka Prefecture in 1996.
Attended a Waldorf school, one of the alternative schools, from elementary school through high school.
After graduating, he moved to the United States alone and enrolled in a community college affiliated with the State University of New York. Due to the timing of transferring to a four-year university and the COVID-19 pandemic, he returned to Japan. He then enrolled in an online program at the City University of New York. During the same period, he founded the general incorporated association Asobology in Kyoto. He develops mechanisms to stimulate curiosity across a wide range of ages, from children to adults. In his undergraduate studies, he focused on research from the perspective of “disability studies,” which identifies barriers caused by structural issues, focusing on individuals directly affected by social issues and engaged in social movements. He enrolled in graduate school in spring 2025, where he will research about Community of Practice in the field of human resource management while also supporting young people's initiatives.
At ***in Residence Kyoto, he is involved in creating mechanisms to engage young people.

小中高とオルタナティブスクールの一つであるシュタイナー学校に通う。
卒業後は単身アメリカへと渡り、ニューヨーク州立大学系列のコミュニティカレッジへ進学。4年制大学への編入のタイミングと新型コロナウィルス大流行が重なり帰国。その後、ニューヨーク市立大学のオンライン課程へと進学。同時期に京都で一般社団法人アソボロジーを創業。好奇心を擽る仕掛けをこどもから大人まで幅広く展開。学部では構造に起因する障壁を明らかにする「障害学」の視点から社会課題の当事者で社会運動を行う人々にフォーカスを当てて研究。2025年春より大学院へ進学。人的資源管理分野の実践共同体について研究する傍ら若者たちの起行支援を行う
